MTT / record definitions

ROI, ITM and a profitable tournament are three different things

Keep entry costs, return amounts and finishing status as separate facts. A re-entry changes your investment; a bounty changes return, but neither decides official ITM status.

Start with total investment

For equal entry prices, single entry cost including fee × bullets gives total investment. A $110 entry with two bullets costs $220. If an add-on or re-entry price differs, use the explicit total override and keep the count of bullets accurate. Do not count one tournament as several profitable/losing tournaments just because you fired more bullets.

Total return includes all money returned that you enter for that event. In PokerArc, the bounty field is a subset of total return, never added a second time. A zero investment has no defined ROI denominator; do not display an invented percentage.

Work from totals, not average percentages

Example data — USD, three synthetic tournaments. C has missing ITM status, not a confirmed No.
EventInvestmentReturnNetITM
A$220 (2 × $110)$100, including $20 bounty−$120Yes
B$110 (1 bullet)$0−$110No
C$110 (1 bullet)$660+$550Unknown

Total investment = $440; total return = $760; net profit = $320. Combined ROI = $320 ÷ $440 × 100 = 72.73%. The four bullets belong to three tournament records. A's ITM finish still lost money after two entries.

Known-status ITM = 1 Yes ÷ 2 known statuses = 50%, with coverage 2 ÷ 3 = 66.67%. Profitable tournaments = 1 ÷ 3 = 33.33%. Do not label the missing C status No or infer it automatically from its return. Fill it from the event facts when available.

Why cash-game metrics do not transfer directly

Cash hourly divides net result by actual time. Tournament ROI divides by investment; ITM divides by known event statuses in this product. Those denominators answer different questions. If two MTTs overlap for four hours, their eight summed tournament-hours are not eight hours of your time. PokerArc therefore does not publish a combined MTT hourly figure from those durations.

Keep currencies and Cash/MTT samples separate, and inspect how much one large cash changes your totals. Pro's MTT rolling and volatility views describe recorded results; basic records and summaries remain Free. A short-run ROI is not a forecast or proof of a stable edge.

Use the appropriate record

Open Tracker and select MTT, then check a single event before reviewing a combined total. Shared chip issuance belongs in Home Game settlement, not an MTT ROI denominator. For a poor stretch, use the record-and-decision review checklist.
