Performance / win rate
What does poker win rate measure?
Poker win rate summarizes observed profit per unit of time or hands. Money/hour, bb/hour and bb/100 use different denominators; label the unit whenever you report a rate.

Three different units
- Money/hour = net profit ÷ hours
- bb/hour = net profit ÷ big blind ÷ hours
- bb/100 = net profit ÷ big blind ÷ hands × 100
One sample, three rates
Suppose you finish +500 over 25 hours in a game with a 5 big blind. The observed rate is 20/hour or 4 bb/hour. If the sample contains exactly 2,000 hands, it is also 5 bb/100.
The abbreviation bb means big blind here, not big bet. Keep the blind size and profit in the same currency.
Do not guess hands from hours
A live game's pace varies with table size, players and dealing speed. Without a reliable hand count, use money/hour or bb/hour. PokerArc leaves bb/100 blank until you enter actual hands.
What is a good live poker win rate?
There is no single benchmark that establishes skill across games. Stakes, rake, table selection and sample size change the comparison. A rate describes the supplied record; it does not establish that the next session will be profitable.
If the stakes changed across your record, split the samples by stakes or normalize each session before combining big-blind results. Do not divide a mixed-stakes money total by one arbitrary blind size.
